Paradip: A woman gave birth to a baby on a rickshaw trolley after ambulance reportedly failed to arrive on time at her house in Sandhakuda area of Odisha's Paradip town, today.

According to reports, the woman experienced labor pain in the morning. Though she called for an ambulance, it didn't turn up.

As the pain intensified, she decided to travel to the hospital using a rickshaw trolley. However, she ended up delivering a baby girl on the way to the hospital near Nuabazaar here.

The rickshaw puller and some local women from the market stepped in to assist the woman in the delivery.

Later, an ambulance from Paradip Port Hospital arrived and transported the woman and the newborn to Atharbanki Hospital for further treatment. Both are reported to be in good health.
