To mark the occasion, arts and crafts exhibition and a blood donation camp were organised.

Cuttack: Tributes poured in for Netaji Subash Chandra Bose on the occasion of his 126th birth anniversary at his birthplace museum in Odisha’s Cuttack district here today. Observing the occasion at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose birth place museum at Oriya Bazaar in Cuttack city, Khandapada MLA and founder-editor of Sambad Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Ama Odisha secretary Swaraj Mishra and other members of Cuttack edition of Sambad garlanded Netaji’s statue and remembered his sacrifices for the nation.

“Today is the birth anniversary of Netaji Subash Bose whose slogan “You give me blood, I will give you freedom” had inspired millions in the country during the freedom struggle. To honour the occasion, we have organised a blood donation camp. We may have achieved independence but on Netaji’s birthday, but the bigger question is – how much have we protected our freedom, what freedom means to each one of us and how much of it have we managed to secure in current times. We must ourselves – are we even eligible to honour and celebrate eminent personalities who fought for us? If today we are celebrating Netaji’s birthday, how much of his values and attributes have we honoured and inculcated in our definition of patriotism today. To celebrate Netaji, we must imbibe his fearless spirit. It is a source of immense pride for us that Odisha is Netaji’s birthplace and we must live upto it,” Patnaik said.

To mark the occasion, arts and crafts exhibition and a blood donation camp were organised.
