Parala quadruple deaths: Odisha MLA K Surya Rao, BJP’s G Ravana get bail

Cuttack: In a major relief to sitting MLA K Surya Rao and BJP leader G Ravana, the Orissa High Court (HC) today granted anticipatory bail to both of them in connection with the sensational Paralakhemundi quadruple deaths in 2016.

The two leaders had earlier moved the High Court seeking anticipatory bail in connection with the mysterious deaths of Parala Maharaja’s former manager Anang Manjari Patra and her three siblings.

Worth mentioning, bodies of Ananga and her two siblings– Bijaylaxmi Patra and Sanjay Patra– were recovered from her residence in Paralakhemundi on August 21, 2016. Ananga’s another brother Santosh was rescued from the house in critical condition and later died while undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital on the next day.

Later, Anang’s brother Amulya Patra and his sister had lodged a complaint at Paralakhemundi police station holding the legislator and few others responsible for the deaths.
