Paralympics medalist Pramod Bhagat on cloud nine as he meets Sachin Tendulkar; See pics

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Pramod Bhagat, who made the entire nation proud by clinching Gold medal in Tokyo Paralympics 2020 in badminton men’s singles SL3, expressed immense happiness after he met cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, yesterday.

He described the meeting as a childhood dream coming true. “I can’t believe how happy I am today. As a kid, I took inspiration from Sir Sachin Tendulkar for always being positive and motivated. I always imagined that I would get a chance one day to meet you. I also wished that day should come post the biggest achievement of my life and God aligned all the stars for me,” wrote Bhagat on Instagram.

“I won the Paralympics Gold. The joy of medal hadn’t even settled that I got a chance to meet you. I was falling short of words at start as I couldn’t believe I was sitting next to you. Your kindness is heart touching,” he posted.

“The words you spoke to me will stay with me forever and will keep inspiring me for life. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will be sleepless tonight,” he added.

The Odisha Government has announced a cash award of Rs 6 crore and Group-A level government job for Bhagat. He will be handed over the cheque by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik after his arrival in Bhubaneswar.
