Pari murder case in Odisha: SIT seizes blood-stained towel

Nayagarh: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has recovered a blood-stained towel from the house of the prime accused of the Nayagarh minor girl rape and murder case, said police sources.

The sources added the prime accused revealed before IPS officer Arun Bothra-led SIT that the minor girl had nosebleed while he strangulated her to death. The accused then wiped off the blood using his towel.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the SIT seized the blood-stained towel from his house in Jadupur village in Nayagarh district.

The sources further stated experts have confirmed the blood stain on the towel. For further investigation, the towel will be sent to a laboratory, the sources added.

The SIT arrested the accused on December 20 and stated that he strangulated the five-year-old girl to death and made a failed attempt to have sexual intercourse with the corpse.
