Pari murder cases: Odisha DGP suspends Inspector, transfers SDPO Nayagarh

Bhubaneswar: Amid the chorus for removal of Agriculture Minister Arun Sahoo growing each passing day, Odisha DGP, Abhay today shunted out two police officials in Nayagarh district in connection with Pari murder case.

The DGP suspended Inspector RR Sahoo who was working as IIC of Nayagarh Sadar Police Station. Also, SDPO Nayagarh, Niranjan Padhi was transferred and posted as the DSP, Kandhamal.

Earlier in the day, BJP’s State In-charge, D Purandeswari demanded the Agriculture Minister’s removal for allegedly shielding the accused of Pari murder case. She visited Jadupur village in Nayagarh district and met the family members of the five-year-old girl.

BJP yesterday announced that padyatras will be organized in 147 assembly constituencies to give justice to the family of Pari.

Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati alleged that BJP is playing politics over Pari murder case. He stated the party will continue its fight until justice is meted out to Pari.

Worth mentioning, Pari from Jadupur village was allegedly kidnapped and murdered on July 23. Ten days later her decomposed body was found packed in a sack near her houses.

Her parents attempted self immolation in front of the State Assembly during the Winter Session accusing police inaction in Pari murder case. They also alleged Agriculture Minister Arun Sahoo was shielding the accused Babuli Nayak.
