Pari murder: Leggings found from village pond in Odisha’s Nayagarh

Nayagarh: In a major development in the sensational case of sexual assault and murder of 5-year-old girl Pari at Jadupur village in Odisha’s Nayagarh district, an ODRAF team last night recovered leggins from a pond in the locality.

The water body was earlier dried out by the ODRAF personnel as directed by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Odisha Crime Branch probing into the case for collection of evidence.

The recovery holds significance as SIT head Arun Bothra had said that accused Saroj Sethy threw the leggings of the girl into the pond on the fateful day after strangulating her to death and dumping the body at a bush near the pond.

The bottom wear will examined to ascertain whether it belonged to the minor girl or not.
