Puri: After a gap of seven years, the Parimanik Darshan system will resume at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha's Puri. This was informed by Ranjan Kumar Das, Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), after a meeting over various temple-related matters on Thursday.

As per the decision, the current free darshan system will remain unchanged, and the ticketed darshan will be available for a few hours. The specific pricing of tickets and the timing for this special darshan facility will be determined soon.

Das said that representatives from all Nijogs will be consulted to establish a standard operating procedure before reintroducing the Parimanik Darshan system.

Previously, the SJTA used to charge Rs 50 for Parimanik Darshan. However, this practice was discontinued when devotees were barred from entering the sanctum sanctorum of the temple during the repair work of the Jagamohan in 2016.

Regarding the reintroduction of the Parimanik Darshan system, temple officials have indicated that devotees are unlikely to be allowed inside the sanctum sanctorum. Instead, the plan is to permit the Parimanik Darshan ticket holders to stand in the Bhitara Katha area.
