Parking restrictions imposed in Odisha Capital, here’re details

Bhubaneswar: With an aim to make the stretch from Rajmahal square to AG Square congestion free, the Commissionerate Police today imposed restrictions on parking of vehicles.

In a notice, the Commissionerate Police said there will be no two-wheeler parking from Rajmahal Square to AG Square on both sides of the road. Two wheelers will be parked in old cycle stand near Capital Police Station. Besides, single lane car parking will be allowed on left flank of the road close to the footpath at 45 degree angle from Rajmahal Square to AG Square.

The notice further read no fruit or any other kind of vendors with or without push carts will be allowed on the road from Rajmahal Square to AG Square. It added footpath is for the movement of the pedestrians only and there shall be no encroachment on the footpath by vendors or vehicles.

The Commissionerate Police also said no vehicles will be allowed to be parked on the service road from Kalpana to Rajmahal square, adjacent to Rajmahal Over Bridge from 8 AM till 10 PM daily.

A notice said only entry will be allowed into sub main road-1 from Rajmahal-Sishubhawan road inside the Bapuji Nagar market area. No vehicle will be allowed to exit through this lane onto the Rajmahal-Sishubhawan road.

Only exit will be allowed from sub-main road-2 onto the Rajmahal – Sishubhawan road. No vehicle will be allowed to enter the Bapuji Nagar market from sub-main road – 2. Vehicles will be allowed to enter onto Lane No. 12 from sub-main road-1 and only exit will be allowed from lane No. 11 onto sub-main road-2, it further read.

Sub-main road-1, lane No. 12, sub main road-2, lane No. 11 are declared as one ways. Movement of vehicles from both sides is restricted in these two stretches.

There shall be a system of alternate parking on Sub-main Road-1 & 2 i.e. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday parking will be on the left flank and on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday on the Right flank. System of above mentioned alternative parking will also prevail on the arterial road inside the Bapujinagar main market running parallel to the Rajmahal-Sishubhawan road, the notice stated.

This apart, there shall be three designated parking places inside the Bapujinagar main market area, namely: In front of Jagannath Seva Sadan, In front of Rabindra Medicine store and in front of Bank of Baroda, Bapujinagar branch.

Compoundable fine of Rs 1,000 will be imposed under Section 96 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003 in case of violation of the provisions.
