Passenger with 1 kg gold inside his rectum caught at Bhubaneswar airport

Bhubaneswar: The officials of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) today arrested a passenger at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here for smuggling gold into the country.

The DRI sleuths seized around a kilogram of gold from the passenger after he arrived at BPIA in the Odisha capital here from Bangkok today.

The officials extracted the gold from three capsules hidden in the passenger’s rectum.

The scanners installed at the BPIA could not trace the gold. But, the DRI officials came to know about it when they questioned the passenger after noticing his suspicious activities.

The DRI officials reportedly took the passenger to a lavatory at the airport and extracted the capsules containing the gold.

They seized the gold and arrested the passenger.
