Berhampur: A patient undergoing treatment at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here in Odisha's Ganjam district allegedly severed three fingers of his left hand today.
The victim, identified as Ganga Madkami (35) of Malkangiri, was admitted to the hospital after sustaining injuries in a road mishap.
Madkami reportedly picked up a blade which was lying on floor near a toilet in the hospital this afternoon and slitted his fingers. He was immediately taken to the casualty ward for treatment.
Family sources said Madkami is mentally challenged. He had earlier lost four fingers in the road accident.
