Patient’s death sparks tension at hosp in Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: Tension ran high at Kamakhyanagar sub-divisional hospital in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district today over the death of a patient due to alleged medical negligence.

According to reports, one Saroj Kumar Rout (42) of Kanapura village under Kamakhyanagar police limits was admitted to the hospital around 2 pm as he complained of illness. However, he died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Family members of the deceased alleged that an empty oxygen cylinder was used for his treatment which led to his death. They also created ruckus over the incident.

On being informed, Kamakhyanagar police station IIC reached the hospital to take stock of the situation.

On the other hand, the hospital authorities said the matter will be probed.
