Patnagarh mass ‘killing’: 2 more suspects detained

Balangir: The Patnagarh police today arrested two more persons in connection with the alleged murder of six members of a family at Sanrapada village in Balangir district.

The two detainees- Bablu Jani and Suresh Majhi- are being interrogated by the cops regarding the alleged mass murder. With this, police have so far detained four persons for questioning.

Earlier, Shiva and Bhola were detained by the police for interrogation following a complaint lodged by deceased Bulu Jani’s sons on November 12. Bablu Jani and Suresh Majhi are the father and the brother-in-law of Shiva and Bhola. 

When asked, wives of Bablu and and Suresh said the two had gone to Sindhekela for business related work and returned to their houses for Diwali but police picked up them.

Worth mentioning, Bulu Jani (50), his wife Jyoti (48), their two daughters Sarita (14) and Shreya (3), and two sons Bhishma (5) and Sanjeev (2) were found dead  with injury marks inside their house on November 11.

The next day, deceased Bulu Jani’s five sons reached Patnagarh and lodged a police complaint alleging that Bhola, Shiva, Saraju, Bablu, and Suresh of the locality were having a dispute with their father for the last one year. They also alleged that the five were threatening their family members to kill them.
