Peaceful protest by Bajrang Dal opposing Valentine’s Day in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: The members of Bajrang Dal today staged peaceful protest opposing celebrations on Valentine’s Day here in Odisha’s capital city.

Holding placards, the Bajrang Dal members launched demonstrations shouting the slogans like ‘No western culture in name of Valentine’s Day’, and ‘Bande Mataram’ outside Jayadev Vatika, Ekamra Park and Forest Park, the key locations in Bhubaneswar where the lovebirds usually visit.

“We are staging the demonstrations in a peaceful manner urging youth not to celebrate Valentine’s Day, which is a part of western culture. We will do no harm to anyone but will oppose the celebrations,” said a Bajrang Dal member.

The protestors were also found moving on bikes with placards persuading the public to refrain from celebrating western culture’s love day.
