PEO looted of Rs 3.9 lakh at gunpoint in Odisha’s Boudh

Boudh: Armed miscreants allegedly looted Rs 3.93 lakh from a Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) on Dapala road under Manamunda police limits in Odisha’s Boudh district today.

Bipul Dash, PEO of Lamseri Panchayat office, was on his way to Lamseri from Manamunda in a van carrying the cash, which was to be distributed among pensioners.

In the meantime, five bike-borne miscreants intercepted the van and threatened Dash at gunpoint. They snatched away the cash from his possession and fled the spot.

Acting on a complaint lodged by the victim, Manamunda police have started investigation into the incident.
