Bhubaneswar: The Sikh community in Bhubaneswar observed  Guru Nanak Jayanti, one of their most sacred festivals, today. Gurudwara Singh Sabha, the Gurudwara in Bhubaneswar, was decked up with flowers and lights to celebrate the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak.

Two days before the Jayanti, Akhand Paath i.e., continuous reading of Guru Granth Sahib for 48 hours, was held and it concluded on Gurupurab with kirtans and bhajans.

Kadha Prasad, mainly halwa, is served as the main bhog. People from all religions gather at the Gurudwara to listen to the Asa-di-Var which is the morning hymns and the Katha Kirtan, followed by Langar, the community feast.
