Pipili gang rape & murder: BJP women activists gherao CB Headquarters

Cuttack: Alleging negligence in investigation into the Pipili gang rape and murder case, activists of BJP Mahila Morcha gheraoed the Crime Branch (CB) Headquarters here today.

Holding party flags and shouting anti-Government slogans, hundreds of party activists took out a rally from Jail Road to CB Headquarters here. The activists alleged that Crime Branch has diverted the investigation into the incident and the victim is yet to get justice due to negligence in the probe.

Later, tension prevailed when the activists had a face off with police personnel deployed on the spot when the former tried to barge into the CB office. The police later detained several activists from the spot.
