The incident happened when a Baba, who looked like he was under the influence of marijuana, was playing with a wild cobra at the Dhauli hills on the outskirts of the capital city.

Claiming to be Lord Shiva, the Baba was trying to impress onlookers on the occasion of Shravan Monday today holding the wild cobra by its tail and making it sway to the tunes of the dambaru as curious people, including tourists, and policemen watched the scene. Some even recorded it on their mobile phone cameras. No one tried to prevent the intoxicated baba from his dangerous antics and get off the reptile.

However, some gentleman had called up Subhendu Mallick of Snake Helpline. But by the time Mallick reached, the snake had already left the spot while the baba was groaning in pain on the verge of falling unconscious after receiving two bites from the reptile.

On Mallick’s intervention, the baba was shifted to capital hospital where he is undergoing treatment for snake bite.
