PLGA week: Security tightened in Odisha’s Koraput

Koraput: Combing operation in Maoist-hit areas of Odisha’s Koraput district has been intensified in view of the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) week being observed by the extremists.

While the observance will continue till December 8, special security measures have been undertaken in Narayanpatna, Bandhugaon, Pottangi, Nandapur, Padua and Lamtaput areas of the district to avoid any untoward incident.

Checking of vehicles is underway at all entry points of the district. This apart, BSF, CRPF and SOG jawans have been put on alert in Andhra-Odisha border areas.

As a part of precautionary measure, plying of government buses in various routes of the district has been cancelled.
