Bhubaneswar: Amid ongoing annual Plus 2 Examination, a student was found hanging inside hostel room of the Rama Devi Women's University here today.

The deceased student was Pragyan Mohanty, Plus 2 second year Arts student of Rama Devi Women's Junior College. She hailed from Rayagada district.

According to repots, Pragyan was staying at a hostel on premises of the state-run Rama Devi University. As she had no examination paper scheduled for today, she was inside the hostel room alone. She hanged self with her dupatta from a ceiling fan.

On receiving information, Saheed Nagar police reached the hostel and recovered a suicide note from the room.

An investigation is underway to ascertain the reason behind her death.
