Plus II girl student faces murderous attack by one-sided lover in Odisha’s Koraput, critical

Jeypore: A young girl who is a Plus II Science student of Vikram Deb (Autonomous) College was attacked today by a youth over a one-sided love affair in Jeypore town of Koraput district and her condition is said to be critical.

According to an official of the local police station, the victim was staying in a rented house in the Parabeda locality here. The accused had previously attempted to win the heart of the girl and proposed several times. After he failed in getting any positive response from the Plus II student, he got raged and decided to take revenge. He hatched a plan and accordingly attacked the 2nd-year Science student.

The girl was attacked on her hands and chest. She was rescued while wreathing in pain by some male students of the college and was immediately admitted to a government-run hospital in Jeypore town.

On being informed, local police reached the spot and launched a probe, which is underway.

“During recess break, just after the classes were over, I was going to the Students’ Common Room when I heard the girl screaming for help. She was attacked by someone with a sharp weapon when she was about to leave for her house. I don’t know the reason behind the fatal attack. We rushed her to hospital,” one of the male students who had brought the injured to the health facility stated.
