Plus II student meets watery grave in Rourkela

Rourkela: In a tragic incident, a student met a watery grave while taking bath in the Koel River here today. His body was recovered from the water later in the day.

The deceased was identified as Rahul Patra (17), a Plus Two student of the Government Autonomous College in Rourkela.

According to reports, Rahul along with his friends had visited the Koel River near Teterkela for a bath in the morning. As his leg slipped while taking bath, he entered into deep water and drowned. After he went missing in the water, his friends sought help from locals to rescue him.

On receiving information from the locals, the police and fire services personnel rushed to the site and launched a search operation in the river.

Later, Rahul’s body was recovered from the river.
