Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off train services between Puri-Anand Vihar Terminal and Paradeep-Kendujhargarh (MEMU train) during his visit to Odisha. The flagging off ceremony was held at Chandikhole in the presence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The PM also flagged off container train from MMLP Jajpur, Odisha to ICD Dadri, Uttar Pradesh.
On the occasion, Modi also laid foundation stone forĀ Electric Loco Periodical Overhauling Workshop at Norla, Wagon Periodical Overhauling Workshop at Kantabanji, and Wagon Maintenance Facilities at Baghuapal.
The Prime Minister also dedicated to the nation Banspani-Daitari-Tomka-Jakhapura Rail Line and Khurda Road-Barang 3rd Rail Line.
The 162 km Bansapani - Daitari - Tomka - Jakhapura Rail Line will not only enhance the existing traffic facility's capacity but also facilitate efficient transportation of Iron and Manganese ore from Keonjhar district to the nearest ports and steel plants, significantly contributing to regional economic growth.
The CONCOR Container Depot in Kalinga Nagar was also inaugurated by Modi.
