Puri: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a roadshow on Badadanda from Marichikot Chhak to Medical Square here as thousands of BJP supporters and party workers gathered on roadside to greet him.

BJP's Puri MP candidate Sambit Patra, MLA nominee Jayant Sarangi and party's state president Manmohan Samal were with the PM on the special vehicle during the event.

Earlier, the PM reached the pilgrim town at around 7.30 am and visited the Shree Jagannath Temple here to offer prayers to the deities before commencing the roadshow.

The portion of the Badadanda was cordoned off for the event while the area was declared as a no-fly zone. Temporary barricades were erected on both sides of the road.

Modi is today scheduled to address two public gatherings in Angul and Cuttack. Polling will be held in Puri, Cuttack, and Angul constituencies on May 25.

He had arrived in Bhubaneswar on Sunday evening and reviewed poll strategy and other issues during a meeting with several BJP leaders at the party's state headquarters.

This is the third visit of PM Modi to Odisha for the election campaigning in the last 15 days. He has so far addressed five big public rallies at different constituencies and also held a massive roadshow in Bhubaneswar city.
