PM’s visit to Odisha: 3-tier security arrangement to be made from Airport to Raj Bhavan

Bhubaneswar: A three-tier security arrangement will be in place from the airport (BPIA) to Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar during PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha. Three DCPs, 10 ACPs, 17 IICs, and 20 platoons of police force including CISF personnel will be deployed, DCP Prateek Singh informed today.

A carcade rehearsal will be carried out on this route later in the evening, before the PM’s arrival here. The PM is to reach at 9.30 pm tomorrow. The route will be adequately barricaded for security reasons. The entire region will be declared as ‘No Drone Flying Zone’ during the PM’s visit, DCP Singh expressed.

An elaborate arrangement has been made for effective traffic control in the city, the senior cop said.

“We had a detailed discussion with Special Protection Group (SPG) officers regarding the safety measures. We will keep a close watch on the movement of any person around the airport. Raj Bhavan security has also been whipped up and on the route lining arrangements have been made,” the DCP further said.

Notably, on arrival in a chartered flight, the PM will proceed to Raj Bhavan and stay at night. The next day, the PM has to address two election meetings of BJP scheduled in Berhampur and Nabarangpur.
