PNB scam: Raids on jewellery stores in Odisha capital continue

Bhubaneswar: Enforcement Directorate (ED) continued with its raids on jewellery showrooms for the second consecutive day in the Odisha capital today in connection with the multi-crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud case against billionaire jewellery designer Nirav Modi and others.

The ED today conducted searches at three prominent jewellery showrooms in the State capital to find out original ownership of gold and diamond jewellery of Gitanjali, Nakshatra, Asmi and Gili brands sold in these showrooms, sources in the ED revealed.

Worth mentioning jewellery brands Geetanjali, Nakshatra, Asmi and Gili are owned by fugitive billionaire jewellery designer Nirav Modi and his associates.

The ED team in its raids on four jewellery showrooms and distributors in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar has seized gold and diamond jewellery worth crores of rupees, the sources added.
