Police Inspector dismissed from service in Odisha for graft

Bhubaneswar: Odisha interim DGP Satyajit Mohanty today dismissed Inspector Nalinikanta Mohapatra from government service in view of his conviction in Koraput Vigilance case.

Mohapatra, former IIC of Bissamkatak police station in Rayagada district, is now working as an Inspector in Mayurbhanj district.

The police Inspector was dismissed after Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore convicted him in the vigilance case on October 23, 2019, under sections 13(2) P.C. Act 1988.

“Inspector Nalinikanta Mohapatra was dismissed from service by DGP in exercise of powers conferred under article 311 (2) (b) of the constitution of India and Rule 828 read with appendix 49 (12) (c) of the Odisha Police Manual,” an official release said.
