‘Pass being issued to doctors, not to their relatives during lockdown’

Bhubaneswar: Reacting to the controversy around issuance of a pass to a woman doctor in Bhubaneswar, Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi today said a doctor is entitled to a pass, not the relatives of a doctor.

He further said according to the IIC and ACP when the woman doctor requested for a pass at the police station of her locality, the Commissionerate Police immediately provided the same to her.

Sarangi further said it is not clear why the woman doctor accused the police of creating troubles for her in reaching AIIMS, Bhubaneswar where she works. The police have requested the AIIMS authorities to probe the matter, he added.

Earlier in the day, brother of the woman doctor tweeted alleging that police created troubles for him who was accompanying her sister to the hospital in a vehicle.
