Bhubaneswar, Jun 27:
There seems to be more trouble in the offing for Odisha industrialist Trailokyanath Mishra, his wife Asha Manjari Mishra and son Sabyasachi Mishra as the Twin City Commissionerate police today issued ‘lookout notice’ against them.
The Commissionerate police issued ‘lookout’ against them in connection with a dowry torture case filed against them by Lopamudra Mishra, wife of Sabyasachi Mishra.
Apprehending that they are planning to flee abroad the Commissionerate police issued ‘lookout circular’ to all airports in the country with directions to put it up at international airports.
Sources said the Commissionerate Police is contemplating to move the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM’s) Court here seeking non-bailable warrants (NBWs) against them since they did not appear before it despite them pasting a notice (latka in local parlance) at their Unit III residence the period of which ended June 22.
It may be noted here that Lopamudra had lodged a complaint at the Mahila Police Station on May 10 this year vide case no. 117/2016 alleging to have been subjected to physical and mental torture for dowry by her husband and her in-laws.
Since no action was taken by the police even after a month of her lodging the complaint with the police she revealed her story of torture before the media.
Lopamudra has even alleged that her husband had proposed to her for wife-swapping when they were on a visit to Port Blair.
On Sunday Lopamudra lodged a complaint with the Badagada police that she has been receiving threats to her life from her father-in-law’s cell phone via Facebook and WhatsApp.
Earlier, Lopamudra had lodged a complaint with the same police station on June 15 that some unidentified youths on June 14 night had barged into the Tankapani Road residence of her parents where she is currently residing and had threatened to kill her and kidnap her son.
Notably, the Twin City Commissionerate Police on June 17 had pasted a notice at the house of Trailokyanath Mishra asking him, his son Sabyasachi Mishra and wife Asha Manjari to appear at the Mahila police station on or before June 22 to record their statements in connection with the dowry torture case lodged by his daughter-in-law Lopamudra.
Commissionerate Police had claimed that despite best of its efforts it could not contact them nor could ascertain their whereabouts and had to paste the notice at Plot No. 191, Unit III (Trailokya Mishra’s residence) under Kharavela Nagar police limits asking them to appear at the Mahila police station here and record their statements. Police had said the notice was part of the process of its investigations into the May 10 complaint of Lopamudra alleging physical and mental torture by her husband and in-laws for dowry.
