Both Budhia and his mother recorded their statements at the Nayapalli police station in the capital city.

“In my knowledge, the investigating officer (IO) today recorded their statements under section 161 of the Cr PC. I am yet to get their statements so I cannot tell about the contents therein. As per our procedure, we will pray the court to record their statements under section 164 Cr PC,” informed Twin City Police Commissioner Y B Khurania.

The Khordha District Child Welfare Committee is also likely to speak to the wonder boy.

“It appears there is somebody behind who is pressing the remote. It seems he is speaking the remote handler’s language. After we speak to them we will go for the counseling process through which he can make improvements from his current status. We will try to provide him with all support that he will be needing and that which will be possible on our part to provide. We can also accordingly direct the government,” said Khordha District Child Welfare Committee member Benudhar Senapati.

The wonder boy arrived here by a flight from Mumbai yesterday. He was accompanied by his mother.

Notably, Budhia had not reported to the sports hostel in Bhubaneswar, where he is training since he was seven, after the summer vacation giving rise to speculations over his disappearance.

The marathon boy had told reporters on his arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport yesterday that nobody had kidnapped him and he was holidaying in Kodaikanal with his mother.

His mother Sukanti Singh had told reporters that Budhia was not going to return to the Sports Hostel in Bhubaneswar, where he was training since he was seven.
