Police Recruitment Board gets Odisha CM nod

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved a proposal for setting up of a permanent Police Recruitment Board in Odisha.

The board will consist of a chairman and two members, sources said.

The Chief Minister has also approved a proposal to create 24 administrative and other posts at the board.

A DG-rank or Additional DG-rank official of Odisha Police will be appointed as the chairman of the Police Recruitment Board.

Two officers—one in the rank of Additional DG or IG police and another in the rank of DIG or SP in Odisha Police—will be the members of board, sources said.

“The board will be responsible for the recruitment of sepoys, Sub-Inspectors and ministerial staffers in Odisha Police. It will help expedite the recruitment of police personnel in the state,” said an official.
