Puri: Police have released Bhaskar Sahoo of Kanas area, the man who allegedly threw ink at Odisha 5T Secretary VK Pandian and Puri Collector Samarth Verma in Satyabadi area of the district yesterday.

Cops had picked up the accused from the spot and detained him at police station for questioning.

They released Bhaskar after he signed an undertaking of not repeating such acts in the future.

The ink throwing incident had taken place at the Utkalmani Gopabandhu Smruti Mahavidyalaya when the 5T Secretary and the District Collector were moving towards the stage after reaching the college. Bhaskar suddenly came nearer to the two officials from amidst a large crowd and committed the act.

The exact reason behind his act has not been ascertained yet.
