Odisha police SI caught taking bribe

Jajpur, June 6:

A sub-inspector of Binjharpur police station in Odisha’s Jajpur district was today caught red handed by vigilance sleuths while allegedly accepting bribe from an accused for closing a case against him.

Vigilance officials said sub-inspector Prafulla Kumar Sahu of Binjharpur police station was nabbed by a vigilance team while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from one Rama Chandra Rout of Ranapur near Medical Chhak of Jajpur town for foreclosing a case that was registered against Rout a couple of days ago.

Sub-inspector Sahu was trapped by a Vigilance team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (Jajpur) Bharat Chandra Sethy, the officials added.
