Poll violence in Chikiti area of Odisha’s Ganjam leaves two injured

Berhampur: Poll violence in Chikiti area of Odisha’s Ganjam district left at least two persons injured, today. The incident took place during the first phase of polling for twin polls in the state.

As per reports, a clash ensued between the supporters of BJP and BJD as the BJD supporters allegedly stopped a BJP agent from entering a polling booth.

The situation soon escalated as two men sustained injuries on head after being hit with lathi.

In another incident in the same region, tension ran high at polling booth no. 54 in K Nuagaon as some agents were allegedly persuading voters to vote for a particular party.

The matter led to a ruckus as exchange of words took place between some locals and policemen. Later, the cops took the situation under control.
