Poor Matric result: Increment of headmasters, teachers stopped

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided to stop the annual increments of headmasters and teachers of the schools which had poor results in the annual Matric examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education.

In a letter to all District Education Officers (DEOs) of the state, the Government has instructed them to stop the annual increments of headmasters and concerned teachers of high schools with zero result or less than 50 per cent result in the matric exams.

The DEOs have also been asked to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the headmasters and teachers.

Notably, as many as 82 high schools had secured zero result in the annual examinations.
