Bhubaneswar: The newly-introduced postgraduate courses of Satyabadi Odia University in Puri district, commenced today on the occasion of Guru Divas (Teacher’s Day).
A spokesperson of the varsity said that the educational institution hereby established a milestone in the field of language and cultural education.
Addressing the students and faculties, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, “This is a proud moment for all of us. I pay my homage to the great persons who enriched Odia language and literature. Like Satyabadi Bana Vidyalaya, Odia University will help further strengthen our national consciousness.”
“Odia, the 2,500-year-old classical language, should be researched and ample of opportunity for the purpose should be created,” the CM advised. Digital technology must be taken advantage of to facilitate Odia language in reaching out to people in the world, the CM expressed.
The Chief Minister directed the officials concerned to complete the construction of the varsity’s building by December 2023.
Higher Education Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Satyabadi MLA Umakanta Samantaray, Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. Sabita Pradhan and noted educationist Dr. Abhiram Biswal, including several retired professors were present on the occasion.
