Bhubaneswar: In view of the forthcoming cyclone FANI, power supply will be temporarily cut off in eight districts of Odisha.
Odisha Energy Secretary Hemant Sharma informed that if the wind speed of the storm reaches 50 kmph, power supply will be discontinued as a precautionary measure. This condition will be in effect after 10 pm tonight.
Power outage will affect Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khordha and Puri.
Sharma also stated that power supply will be restored after detailed inspection and repair in the areas affected by the cyclone.
Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm FANI over Bay of Bengal is expected to hit the coast of Odisha between 8 am and 10 am tomorrow.
