Prabhu flags off extension of two trains in Odisha

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu today flagged off extension of two trains and laid foundation stone of various infrastructure-related projects in Odisha.

Prabhu flagged off of the extension of Khurda Road-Rajsunakhala-Khurda Road passenger up to Bolagarh Road and Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Rajyarani Express up to Gunupur.

Besides, Railway Minister also laid the foundation stone for Khurda Road bypass line, maintenance facilities for MEMU units at Khurda Road, fourth line between Rourkela and Bondamunda at Rourkela, multi disciplinary training centre at Jagatpur in Cuttack through video conferencing from Bhubaneswar Railway Station.

Prabhu also inaugurated the raising and extension of platform no-1 and new platform no-2 and new approach road at Jharsuguda Road and double line between Handapa and Saragipali Stations in Angul-Sambalpur doubling project through video conferencing from Bhubaneswar.

This apart, Prabhu inaugurated a lift and two escalators at Bhubaneswar Railway Station for the benefit of passengers particularly senior citizens, differently abled persons and patients.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik praised Railway Ministry for the development of Railways in this region and also urged to speed up the on-going Railway projects at the earliest.

Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan also praised Railways for infrastructural development of this region and urged to speed-up the projects by continuous review of Railway Board. Among others Ashok Chandra Panda, Tourism & Culture, Ramesh Chandra Majhi, Minister of Commerce & Transport, MPs Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patasani, Anubhav Mohanty, MLAs Bijaya Kumar Mohanty, Priyadarshi Mishra and Naba Kishore Das graced the occasion.
