Prakruti Mishra moves Orissa High Court over tardy pace of police investigation

Cuttack: Odia actress Prakruti Mishra today moved Orissa High Court alleging police apathy pertaining to investigation in the FIR lodged against Babushaan’s wife Trupti and father-in-law Lalit Satpathy over attack made on the complainant on July 23, 2022.

Based on the FIR, a case was earlier registered at Kharavel Nagar police station. However, actress Mishra appealed the court to intervene and order for investigation to be handed over to an independent probe agency. Kharavel Nagar PS IIC, DCP Bhubaneswar, Odisha DGP and Home Secretary are parties to the petition filed by Prakruti Mishra, her counsel Byomakesh Tripathy informed.

The plaintiff has requested High Court to add certain Acts of Indian Penal Code, the counsel added.

Briefing mediapersons, the actress said, “Whatever had happened with me, be it justice or injustice, is known to everybody and entire Odisha has seen it. I have complete faith on court and judicial system as well. I will get my share of justice for sure.”

It is pertinent to mention, a purported video of Babushaan’s wife Trupti allegedly assaulting her husband and actress Mishra on a busy road in Bhubaneswar had gone viral on social media platforms.

Allegedly, Trupti along with some goons had tried to stop Babushaan and Prakruti when the duo was on their way to Bhubaneswar Airport to catch Chennai-bound flight for promotion of their film.
