The Maharaja Purna Chandra (MPC) Autonomous college in Odisha's Baripada was closed sine die today following group clash in the campus ahead of students' union poll.

According to reports, the college authorities took the step after two student groups clashed on the college premises.

Bombs were also hurled inside the campus this morning, sources said.

Police forces have been deployed in the campus to avoid further untoward incident.

Notably, the students’ union poll in colleges across the state is scheduled to be held on October 5. Counting and declaration of results will take place on the same day.
