New Delhi, Aug 5: President Pranab Mukherjee today congratulated internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik on winning the gold medal at the 12^th international sand art competition 2013 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia recently.

Patnaik met the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan and showed him a photograph of his prize winning sculpture.

“I have invited the President to visit my sand sculpture institute when he visits Puri next,” Patnaik said after meeting Mukherjee here.

Patnaik has participated in more than 50 international sand sculpture competitions and festivals around the world and has won many prizes for the country.
