President inaugurates New Abhishek Hall at Odisha Raj Bhawan

Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu today inaugurated the New Abhishek Hall at Raj Bhawan here in the presence of Governor Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The New Abhishek Hall, spread over 47,390 square feet area, has been constructed with an expenditure of Rs 25.23 crore, said an official.

The hall has seating arrangements for 900 guests while it can cater to 1,200 more people during meetings and other functions, said the official.

“The New Abhishek Hall has a big conference room, banquet hall and five lounges. It will be used for large meetings and swearing-in ceremonies. The hall has four entrances and equal number of exits,” added the official.

Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and other senior officials were present on the occasion.

The President arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport here on a two-day visit to Odisha earlier in the Day.

The Governor and the Chief Minister received her at the airport.

The President also attended the second convocation of Rama Devi Women’s University in the city here.
