President Kovind, First Lady pay obeisance to deities at Puri Jagannath Temple

Puri: President Ram Nath Kovind and First Lady Savita Kovind today visited the Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri and paid obeisance to the deities amid tight security.

The two reached the pilgrim town in a special helicopter around 9 am and were escorted to the shrine. Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan were present with the President during the visit to the temple, which lasted for around 40 minutes.

Security arrangements have been beefed up in Puri town in view of the President’s visit. All makeshift shops from Medical Square to the temple have been closed.
