President Murmu, Governor Harichandan pay obeisance at Jagannath temple in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: President Droupadi Murmu along with her daughter Itishree Murmu and Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan today offered prayers and sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath at a temple in Gayatrinagar locality of Raipur, during her official tour to the State.

The President was also accompanied by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, founder of the Vaishnavite shrine Purandar Mishra and his wife Saraswati Mishra, an official source said.

According to sources, the President is on a two-day visit and reached Raipur in the morning.

Earlier in the day, the President attended the Annual Function of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya here. Later, she went to the Guru Ghasidas Museum and witnessed the antiques.

After Murmu reached the State Capital, she was received at the Airport by Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) Mayor Ejaz Dhebar, Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Juneja and District Collector Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, including several other senior officials.
