Narasinghpur: A priest died while offering worship at a Shiva temple at Alara village under Narasinghpur police limits in Odisha's Cuttack district this morning.

According to reports, the temple priest Prabhas Nanda (40) went to the village temple in the morning to conduct daily rituals of deity. While worshipping the Lord, he suddenly fell down and lost his consciousness. He was immediately taken to the Narasinghpur Community Health Centre (CHC) where the doctors declared him dead.

Sources said that the priest was an Asthma patient.

Following the incident, the villagers were gripped by the grief.
