Private bus hits tractor in Odisha’s Sambalpur; two labourers dead

Sambalpur: Two labourers were killed and three others sustained critical injuries after a tractor in which they were travelling was hit by a private bus on National Highway-55 in Sambalpur district today.

The deceased persons have been identified as Gouri Shankar (22) and Ram Sevak Singh (36).

The incident occurred at 10.40 am today when a private bus enroute to Sambalpur carrying passengers from Angul hit a tractor from its behind near a bridge under Jujumura police limits on the NH-55. The labourers on the trolley of the tractor suffered grievous injuries in the incident.

Immediately, the victims were taken to the district headquarters hospital for treatment. However, two labourers succumbed while undergoing treatment and three others identified as Mohit Kumar, Ajay Kumar and Ram Parves are battling for life at the hospital.
