Priyanka drops ‘Jonas’ from Instagram profile; creates buzz on social media
Bhubaneswar: Speculations on actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ marital status with American pop star Nick Jonas flooded in on social media platforms after the actress removed her second surname ‘Jonas’ from her name on her social media profiles.
On Monday, Priyanka dropped the surname ‘Jonas’ from her Facebook, Instagram and Twitter profiles. That left netizens curious and they started hurling questions if the power couple Priyanka-Nick is calling it quits for their marriage.
Based on the assumption of the couple’s probable split, memefest swirled over social media.
However, Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra rubbished the claims by issuing a media statement and asked netizens to not spread rumours.
Moreover, one of Priyanka’s close friends from Mumbai spoke to media and said the rumours were ‘baseless’ and the actress dropped her surname from her social media profiles as she wants to use only her first name in her future projects.
Priyanka recently moved in with her husband Nick Jonas in the US. The couple hosted a Diwali party there and shared photographs from the evening. Priyanka also thanked the guests of the evening for honouring the couple’s home and her culture altogether. She also mentioned her hubby Nick in the post and addressed him ‘the best husband’.
