Producer expects to rake in moolah with re-run of Premi No. 1

Bhubaneswar: Ollywood heartthrob Anubhav Mohanty’s superhit movie Premi No.1 is all set to recreate magic with its re-release this Friday in theatres across Odisha.

Like old wine in new bottle, this updated version of the movie released 13 years ago has incorporated elements such as colour correction and digital sound mixing and will release in Rabi Talkies and Ekamra Talkies in Bhubaneswar and Brundaban Talkies in Cuttack, among 30 cinema halls in the state.

Produced under the banner of Brajraj films starring Anubhav Mohanty and Bong beauty Koel Mallick, Premi no.1 had hit the right chord with the audience. Anubhav Mohanty also made his debut in this movie as a singer and crooned the title track Mu Khanti Odia Toka Premi No. 1.

“I feel so proud that this movie feels so contemporary even after 13 years of its making. It feels just like yesterday that we shot for the film,” said the excited actor-politician. The premier of the film was held on Jan 11 and Anubhav fans have expressed their excitement on social media. The frenzied mass is eagerly waiting for the re-release.

“Anubhav’s debut film I Love You was re-released and it garnered good response from the audience. Some very popular movies are making good business on being released a second time, as compared to first time releases of other films. It is due to the love of the audience and the strength of the movie,” said producer Sanjay Nayak.

Director Sudhanshu Sahoo is enthusiastic about the second innings of this movie because of its upgradation to suit the technological advancement of film production today. The cast of Premi No.1 included veteran actors such as Uttam Mohanty, Aparajita Mohanty, Bijay Mohanty, Tandra Ray, Jai Ram Samal, among others. Swarup Nayak was the music director of this film.
