Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor and Chancellor Prof. Ganeshi Lal today appointed Prof. Sabita Pradhan as the first Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Odia University, Satyabadi, Puri.

She has been appointed as the VC of the varsity for a period of two years with effect from the date she assumes office as such or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Pradhan is currently working as Professor of Odia, Visva Bharati University, Shantiniketan.

"In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 8(1) of the Odia University Act, 2017, the Chancellor, Odia University, Satyabadi has been pleased to appoint Prof. Sabita Pradhan, Professor of Odia, Visva Bharati University, Shantiniketan as first Vice-Chancellor of Odia University, Satyabadi, Puri for a period of two years with effect from the date she assumes office as such or until further orders, whichever is earlier," a notification issued by the office of the chancellor said.
