Bhubaneswar: By the virtue of an order of the Odisha Governor, Professor (Dr.) Santosh Kumar Mishra was appointed today as the Director of Medical Education and Training.

Before this appointment, Dr. Mishra was the Dean and Principal of MKCG Medical College in Berhampur of Ganjam district. He will replace the DMET in-charge Saroj Kumar Mishra.

The previous posting of Special Secretary to Government, H&FW department Saroj Mishra as in charge of DMET-Odisha shall stand terminated from the date when Prof. (Dr.) Santosh Mishra would take over the charge, an official notification issued by the Department in this regard mentioned.

MKCG Medical College and Hospital (MKCGMCH) superintendent Prof. (Dr.) Suchitra Dash has been kept in charge of the Dean and Principal of the MKCGMCH until further orders.

Worth mentioning, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has granted an NOC on the appointment.
